Sunday Series 2017

Jan 08, 2017 17:26

For the past many years, I've marked January by starting a new series of posts that runs on Sundays until such time as it finishes or I give up on it.

- In 2016, it was my day-by-day diary of my trip to Europe. That series lasted all the way to October.
- In 2015, I documented all the of the baseball parks that I'd been to. That one went into August, with occasional updates since then.
- In 2014, I gave my Galapagos trip the daily diary treatment. That one only made it into March before I completed it.
- It wasn't consistently on Sundays, but in 2013 I tried to write about every movie I saw that year. I only made it about 12 posts before giving up.
- In 2012, I did my personal songbook, which went from mid-January to September.
- 2011 covered all the states I've been to. That one went all the way to early 2012, and I've updated it sporadically as events warranted. That was my first full series.
- In 2010 I did make a vague attempt at writing about every movie I'd seen since I started keep my lists, but I only made it about 10 posts in before giving up on that.

So... what about 2017? I tossed around a few ideas, but none of them seemed quite right. So I'm going to take care of some backlog while I think about them.

1. First, I'm going to finish the last couple of posts in my mini-series about eating out in 2015. I ran into a road block after my last post, but I think I have it sorted now. Right now, I suspect that this will take 3-4 more posts.

2. Once that is done, I will post my cinema years in review for 2014, 2015 and 2016. Better late than never, right?

3. Tags are great, but they didn't exist when I first joined LJ. I want to go through my first several years of posts and make sure they are tagged usefully. I haven't read most of the pre-tag posts in years, so that should be interesting. I'll do some new posts about what I find during this. If I do three months at a time that should take most of the rest of the year.

EDIT - At the same time, I'll identify any photo links that go to old sites and re-post them to FB or elsewhere that I control.

EDIT - At the same time, link back to the FB post if there are any comments there (or maybe if there aren't).

EDIT - And do a post about who these people on LJ are.

And from there, we'll see what happens. I intend to post on every Sunday, just as did in 2016. Anyway, the five of you who still read this now know what will be coming!
