Apparently it's Tulip's month for cat encounters. After the two
recent incidents, tonight she took it to a whole new level. We were walking along the sidewalk next to an apartment building, and apparently a local house cat decided to hide inside some tall grass instead of running. I didn't notice the cat, but Tulip sure did and pounced right on top of it. One brief frenzied encounter later I managed to pull her off so the cat could escape. I got a good look at the cat under the street light and it was limping really badly as it hobbled away.
Tulip has a scratch under her eye (thank goodness for rabies shots), but it barely bled at all and I was able to clean it up with a tissue without any problem. She doesn't seem to be in pain at all, so hopefully no vet visit is necessary.
I think Tulip wins this one on a split decision.
