The ripping, she is done

I've ripped 100% of my CDs, and a good 90% of xhollydayx's CDs. All of my radio shows have been imported, other than Fall Semester 2005 (electronic), which seems to have disappeared, although I have hopes of finding it on a decommissioned hard drive somewhere. I'm now up to 8015 songs, nearly 44 days worth of music. Almost more important for my anal retentiveness, the CD rack is now fully alphabetized, and we had more than 20 duplicates, which will now be unloaded for cash or given as gifts.

The problem is that remaining 10%. A few of those are ones I have to dig out of her car, but more than 20 of xhollydayx's CDs simply will not import. They've all got at least one track that won't quite make it through due to scratches or some other reason. A few of these have worked on the second try, or after a thorough wipe down, but the others just won't do it. Does anyone have any tricks they can recommend to slide those ones through?

If I had a laptop I'd bring it to the station and rip them there. I don't. Others I might be able to get at the library. Unfortunately, a great many of the ones that won't rip are relatively hard to find, like a bunch of specialty singles or obscure local bands. If you have ideas that would let me get those on to the computer, I'd appreciate it.

Next up: importing cover art!
