Mac, my younger cat, just went on red alert. He leapt to the top of his impromptu cat tree and stared out the window, his whole body stretched out. The streets are crowded with cars, people out celebrating the New Year, but he was watching the sky. There are several searchlights moving back and forth, I assume in connection with the holiday. It

Happy New Year to you also! Smart cat that he figured out that he couldn't catch what he wanted...some of us spend years chasing after chimeras.

Not that smart -- if we get any snow, he'll be assaulting the windows to get at those flakes. He has to re-learn the whole concept of "glass" each year.
