The stench of Liberalism.

30 year veteran radio shock jock/personality Don Imus has been fired by CBS. The radio host was fired on the tail end of a whirlwind media extravaganza complete with Today Show interviews, main stream media lambasting, and verbal assaults by Rev. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and the NAACP.

Imus, who is known for making radical statements in a rude ( Read more... )

"The more one looks around this nation, the more one sees that it's becoming illegal to be a conservative."

Which is another way of phrasing something I've been saying for a while. It's becoming increasingly apparent that the Liberal elite (oxymoronic sniggering aside) have only a token interest in 'freedom of speech'. We're all free to say whatever we want...just so long as it fits under the umbrella of the Liberal zeitgeist. They've invented a new crime of ideological dissent for those of us who point out unpleasant truthes or voice an alternative position. We're free to have our say still, but they'll destroy our careers as punishment. It's coercement into accepting liberalism by an implicit threat that if one does not, they'll make life intolerable. Liberal 'freedoms' are paper thin.

I suppose it's OK to make a stupid claim that America attacked itself on 9/11 or that Britain staged the capture of it's own sailors. But it's not OK to make a stupid joke about a bunch of female basketball players. One only harms an entire nation's credibility after all. (rolling my eyes).

They (the left) have indeed brought to life 1984's thought crime. You are right.

I saw one of the 'offended' on tv tonight stating how she was "scared for life" and I was beside myself with laughter. FFS, I've had far worse things said to me. And trying to link this minor incident with slavery is nonsense. Fact is, people across the board are desperately searching for excuses for special treatment.

"entitlement" and "special treatment" are the cornerstones of modern American Liberalism.

I heard something today that sums this all up. If you are a white male, and have a differing view from that of the liberal front, then beware. Just beware. If you have means and wish to speak your mind. Just be sure no one hears you. All of the above is just sickening. More-so because it is all tru. The worst part is that the majority of America buys right into what the liberals feed us. I feel it is needed for me to say that I am in no way a stout republican, nor am I a democrat. But I am more than proud of the fact that I am not at all a liberal. Not a liberal like they have become at least. It hurts me to think that I have two kids that get to grow up in this world. "Feel free to speak your mind"("oh, as long as it isn't about anyone that is of a different class, race, religion, non-religion, or anything else that might be seen as a group.") I can only hope that we wake up and figure out how badly we have been fooled.

"PC" should be taken behind the barn and shot. That is all.

Capps out!

I can't agree with anyone calling anyone names, and I think Imus was dumb to call the girls ho's in the first place. The issue that annoys me is the clear double standard at play.

CBS said "we will not tolerate that language".

CBS is owned by Viacom, who also owns MTV, BET, VH1, Vivendi, Universal Pictures, and the record label which produces albums by 50 cent.

While I feel that the comments Mr.Imus made were completely full of hatred and racism, I don't think that he should have been fired from his job. I am a very progressive, left wing liberal, but when it comes to our first amendment rights I am a staunch believer that they shouldn't be taken away under any circumstances.
