I just posted some pix, a few of which are my friend's trip to Devachan Salon in NYC. They were nice enough to let me photograph mid haircut. It's at the bottom of this page:
wow. wow! It looks amazing. I didn't realize that when you get your hair cut dry they brush out the curl like that. Curls always find a new way to surprise me. They changed your curl, which seems a little silly since as soon as you wash, it's going to go back to how it naturally is. Shouldn't they make a cut that is perfect with your (beautiful) natural curl?
Now, I must know two things: 1. Did you have to make your appointment months and months ago? 2. Did it cost you more than a months rent (nyc rent, that is)? They sell a $185 diffuser so I feel like that is a bad sign.
Oh yeah they are pretty expensive. This haircut was a gift for my friend...she spent like months and months making me this statue and wouldn't accept money for it, so I got her back this way. :D I am sneaky!
The cut was $140. I only had to make the appointment for her about a month in advance...I am not sure if I *had* to, though...I just was being safe because she was visiting me only for one week and I could not risk not getting that week. I am not sure if she or I would return to Devachan just because of the cost. This year it was a gift but when she goes back for a cut she might go to The Beehive in Brooklyn. I hear that they do the Devachan style there for MUCH less money. :D
Also, it took 2 or 3 hours for the cut. That was harsh to wait that long. They were very nice and did a great job, though. :D
