Hello everyone! I'm new. :) I wish I had known about this comm before I got my haircut last Saturday, actually, because now my hair is too short and I'm pretty unhappy and just hoping that it will grow back quickly.

Aw I think it's cute! I use Herbal Essences totally twisted mousse.

I use Garnier's Curl Construct Mousse and Sunsilk's Defrizz 24/7 Creme together and it works well for me!

Also, to get the top layer of your hair to curl, you should try something called "plopping." I usually put a little bit of the defrizz creme in first, then "plop" and leave my hair up for about 20 minutes (while I get dressed, put on makeup, etc). Then I take it down and add the mousse and a little more creme, and let it air dry.

Oh wow, that technique sounds great! I've always wished my hair could be curly all over instead of just underneath. I'll definitely try it and post up my results. :)

I've picked up a lot of great tips from this community, but never actually posted any before or after pics of my hair. Hopefully what I (and other people) suggested works!

As a neutral person, I think it looks good and it's an improvement. You look more polished somehow. And I usually PREFER curly/wavy. Coconut oil would probably work well, and it's natural.

I think you're just in some slight shock. lol I think it looks good. It will take a few days for it to get the hang off the shorter length. I have similar hair so I understand the "only some parts want to curl" frustration.

I sort of do a "plopping" type thing. Out of the shower I put Suave gel in it while scruching (their Matrix knock off one) then bend over and grab my hair into a pony tail. Twist it up one turn to the top of my head and take a big clip and clip it to the top of my head. I leave it like that while I do my makeup (keeps it out of my face too!) and then pull out the clip and let it fall. Wha-lah!
