Hair Love

Ladies (and gentlemen) I present you with my favorite haircut ever in my life. I'm so thrilled that a stylist FINALLY took my curls into consideration before chopping at my head with reckless abandon. Instead of cutting it straight across the bottom like most people would do, or putting long layers in it, they cut it "round" so the layers start ( Read more... )

Where did you get your hair cut? I'm not too far from Howell. Actually the best haircut I ever got was at the Ulta store in Brighton.

I had mine done in downtown Ann Arbor at the Douglas J/Aveda Institute on Liberty Street across from the Michigan Theatre. I work there so I just walked in after work and I got right into a chair. It cost me $17.50 & no tip!

I've had some GREAT haircuts from the salon behind Hollywood Video in Brighton and Casa De Bella on Grand River in Howell (it's sort of between the downtown area and the Bowl-E-Drome) but at the time I wasn't wearing my hair curly very often so I can't speak to how well they would deal with curls. Also, those places are going to run you closer to $45-50 after you tip.

I really like it, it's cute! It must be easier to manage now.

Do you have a picture of what your hair looked like before you cut it? Just curious! (=

I guess this is the only picture of the last bad haircut I had (it was only about 3 weeks before I had it fixed). The stupid gesture is in response to my roommate saying "if Chaely is in the cart, where are we going to put the food?"

Basically it was just a non-style. It looked flat & sad pretty much 100% of the time and it totally bummed me out.

The crown of my head never goes really curly so in the winter it falls very flat throughout and I have no choice but to straighten it or look like a schmo. Usually right around April or May when the weather starts looking up I cut it all off and let it go natural. It fluffs up a lot more than this picture suggests once I step outside in the humidity, but the haircut definitely lets it lay a lot flatter than it did before. Thank heavens.
