I went to a joint churches service for Maundy Thursday - it was very, very, long... I did not go to the Good Friday joint service, I'm afraid.

However, I have been inspired by wiseheart to do a bit of Easter baking.

So here are some iced biscuits;

I am! I am wishing my life away for them right now! What I think is a dwarf rhododendron is already now clearly showing pink buds :)

Love your biscuits! And the idea with the chocolate eggs on the cake is a good one. :)

Is it only me or does scabious sound like the name of a small, disreputable, goblin to anyone else, too?
To me, it sounds more like an illness with some unappetizing symptoms. *g*

I have just added a picture of scabious in a reply to wiseheart - is is such a pretty plant to have such an ugly name.

And when you said 'I have just added a picture of scabious in a reply' I thought you meant that you'd posted a picture of a small disreputable goblin, like this Pinterest screen cap from Baldur's Gate 3:

The grass is positively waterlogged at the moment - the stepping stone path and the new shingle beds have really come into their own this week! But it so nice to sit there and not think 'Oh that bush is a mess, I wish I could weed behind there...' and so on.

I am hoping the cake tastes good. We will find out tomorrow!

I must admit, the thought of anyone deliberately planting yellow broom makes me come out in hives: it is horribly invasive here and on the state prohibited plants list. But in your garden I am sure it will be cheery and bright!

The garden plant is not the same as the wild broom that is a bit like gorse. But I have always known it as broom, so I guess it is related - I will take a picture of it!

This was the view from my seat on the decking

Your "new" view is great.

Isn't it! And there was not one thought of 'I must try and do something with that...' or 'I wish there weren't so many weeds growing under those roses!' A real pleasure.
