365 Project, February 15th - February 21st.

Here are this week's seven pictures. No particular great significance to some of them, just things that caught my eye - including a rather nice doorway - oh, and there are a couple of bonus ones, too.

So - this is simply something that caught my eye outside what is now an office building, but would originally have been a town house -

I like that boot scraper and door as well.

The bootscaper is really rather stylish when I stopped to look at it - and you now what I'm like about a good doorway.

Love the first one.

That's a pikelet surely?

I rather like that bootscaper, too.

Not a pikelet to me - to me a pikelet is another name for a drop scone/Scotch pancake,in other words it is made with baking powder as a raising agent, whereas a crumpet is made with yeast as the raising agent.

I make drop scones regularly - but buy crumpets!

I think they might use pikelet for a crumpet in parts of Yorkshire, though.

Down here crumpets are thick and pikelets thin but both are made with yeast.

It is funny, and rather fun, as I was saying to pondhopper, that the names of baked items (or in this case griddled ones!) can vary over a distance of 2 miles in Britain - let alone from one end of the country to the other.

You and Brutti have now widened my knowledge on the subject - up until now I hadn't even come across thin crumpet like things. But now, if I travel in the Home Counties, I will know to look/ask for pikelets. The one in the photo was actually thicker than it looks from that angle - about the standard inch thick I think.

The doorway with those hammered metal additions is simply lovely. I love the sky over the bay and am so happy that your clematis is coming back. You're almost finished with your year of photos. I rather hope you continue it, I've really enjoyed sharing your year with you through your daily photos.

Thank you. I think I am in the habit now - although I can't promise a picture for every day - just that I will continue to look for things that interest me, and carry my camera.

That's a very moody accidental monochrome photo! The ivy photo shows how invasive it can be doesn't it.

I was very pleased with the monochrome effect by accident.

I have to admit that I rather like ivy - but it can be an awful nuisance.
