Give him a good forest and the possibility of shooting something and he's a happy elf. (Hmm - that makes him sound like someone form one of those strange American real-life TV shows that I see trailers for on the Discovery channels...!!)
I think Legolas will be very happy to have his mother around. I still have to consider the effect it might have on some of his relationships, and on some other people - a few hours in the car should help me figure it.
I've not really been away far - I've popped in to comment here and there, and post pictures at Photo Scavenger and drabbles at Tolkien Weekly - but suddenly there wasn't much happening off-line to be worthy of note, whilst at the same time it was taking up lots of time and energy!
He treated himself to the new computer - it is small, and exceedingly powerful. Of course now he is bemoaning that the current monitor just can't do it justice...
He should have got himself one of those all-in-one jobs with the screen and operating unit together. I have one, nice big screen so I can punch up the text size to relieve these poor old eyes! A big plus is no cables trailing everywhere, especially since the key board, mouse etc. are wireless.
Now all I have to do is figure out just what is going on with the printer, it doesn't, print, that is, from the computer, works fine as a copier though! Hardware, can't live with it, can't live without it!
Oh no - he likes separate bits so he can add stuff into the operating system. We both have wireless everything, more or less. His current monitor is a 27", so pretty big, as he, too, has sight difficulties. Now he just wants an even shinier new monitor...
My printer gets the same idea quite often - especially if the router has been turned off for any reason - and I find that the easiest way to rectify it is to go straight to removing it and reinstalling it.
Thank you! I wanted a change of pace - so I'm pleased you liked it.
I think I should get to their reunion in 2 or 3 chapters - and it will, ore or less, be the end of this particular tale. But there a lot of stories still swirling in the brain...

Thranduil and the Twins so have to come, even if I have to go to M.E. kidnap them and load them on a Gray Ship myself!
Good to see you back, I have missed you and your slice of life comments.
Ooo! a new computer, he must have been a very good boy!
