tv guide monday

There's a lot of new shit (emphasis on shit) on television this fall. I figured I'd take it upon myself to watch an episode of just about everything that's currently competing for the highly prized evening slots, and post my ratings/reviews of the shows on the day they air. I don't know why I thought that was a good idea or a good way to utilize ( Read more... )

"Never seen it. And from what I hear, that's a pretty pathetic thing to say when considering the other stuff I actually have seen."

Good thing both previous seasons are on DVD and there's a hiatus!

The only other thing I watch on Mondays is Kitchen Confidential, but that's mainly because of Bradley Cooper (heart). I do think there's a lot of potential that they haven't really explored yet, and I'm an optimistic person. so I think I'll stick with it. The guy that series is based on, Anthony Bourdain, has a pretty interesting travel show on the Travel Channel on Mondays as well. It's called Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, and it's great because he's kind of a dick.

I caught an episode of Bourdain's show last night after you left this comment. It was alright, thought it definitely had a Travel Channel, no-acting-experience feel to it. But in a good, charming way, I suppose.

He seemed pretty lenient with his meals for a food critic. What was he doing critiquing grits and all that other crap?

Yeah, it's not great when put up against other shows, but in that time slot there isn't anything else on and I enjoy travel shows if only to live vicariously through them. And most of the time he's a real dick when it comes to food. The Iceland episode was funny because they kept giving him rotten pickled shark, which is apparantly a delicacy over there, and he was pretty open about how fucking insane their tastes are.

Alright, alright, I'll watch Arrested Development. What WWII programs has the history channel been airing? I was a frequent viewer of their programs in the past, but after getting digital cable and an amped-up PBS channel, I switched over to that.

Not only could I not ever watch a full episode of Laguna Beach, but I wouldn't even be able to leave it on as background noise for an entire episode.

I've never seen Short List (any idea what day it's on?), but I just found the website, which seems to have a lot of the films on it.

I'd rate them, but honestly, I've never seena ny of these shows (except Monday Night Football, which rocks), and with good reason - as a rule, I tend to dislike TV. Still, I appreciate you suffering through it for us!

I think I'm going to hate, nay, loathe, t.v. after this.

Oh, and is there any particular reason Monday Night Football rocks? What makes it better than Sunday football?

That airs Tuesday nights, not Mondays. All of these shows air just on Mondays. There are still five more posts of this length to come. Isn't that insane?

Anyway, you should post your rating (1-10) of My Name is Earl in the Tuesday post.
