There's a lot of new shit (emphasis on shit) on television this fall. I figured I'd take it upon myself to watch an episode of just about everything that's currently competing for the highly prized evening slots, and post my ratings/reviews of the shows on the day they air. I don't know why I thought that was a good idea or a good way to utilize ( Read more... )

Alright, alright, I'll watch Arrested Development. What WWII programs has the history channel been airing? I was a frequent viewer of their programs in the past, but after getting digital cable and an amped-up PBS channel, I switched over to that.

Not only could I not ever watch a full episode of Laguna Beach, but I wouldn't even be able to leave it on as background noise for an entire episode.

I've never seen Short List (any idea what day it's on?), but I just found the website, which seems to have a lot of the films on it.

Oh, I thought you meant you just recently moved from Boston to Washington.

I'd ask you about Tehran, but I already ask too much of you comment-wise. So... ooo, Tehran. And Paris. And Worcester.

Well, not so much Worcester.

Tehran is no Baghdad, that much I'm aware of. But I understand your impulse to immediately point that out. I can only imagine the questions you've been asked, considering some that even I have been asked (moving from Boston to Wichita, KS - "Where's MA, anyway?"; moving from KS back to MA - "Did you live on a farm?").

I am interested in your view of Iranian politics, especially considering our current administration's vehement, altruistic stance against Iran, but I don't have any specific questions to ask you. So if you'd like, I'd be glad for you to share your thoughts, but if you're busy, no worries.

The way Bush marginalizes Iran to suite his political motives perturbs me, but it's his admnistration's effectiveness and ease in selling the caricature of Iran to the American public that really angers me.

Your uncle one of the murdered political writers, correct? I remember you posting a link in a comment in reference to that.

Feeling as I do about the Bush administration but not having the perspective you do, I'd be inclined to compare aspects of our government to those of Iran, though probably to a lesser degree. On a scale from 0 to 20, with five being Iran's government, 0 being 5 steps worse than Iran, and 20 being 15 steps better, where would you place the United States' government?
