So....one of my bosses is leaving this Friday after getting a better job offer. I really would like to make another batch of cupcakes before he goes.

I have been dying to have an excuse to make these cupcakes

Or cut out pieces from an egg carton, if you can make the holes the right size?

I've made these for a bakesale before! When I baked them, I made little rings out of aluminium foil to secure the cones in the muffin pan. I pretty much kept them in there for the rest of their journey, only taking one out to display at my stall. I had to sit them on my lap in the car, but mine were topped with just buttercream (not chocolate dipped). If yours were hard on top, you could just wrap some cling wrap over the top?
Actually, a better idea entirely - McDonalds (in Australia at least) and probably other stores that do soft serves have cardboard trays for if someone buys more than 1 or 2 at a time. You could find someone who'll let you pilcher a bunch!

When I left my old job, one of my co-workers made me a bunch of cupcakes similar to these. She took a shoe box & cut holes in the lid the same size as the smaller, bottom part of the cone. That way the big part of the cones rested on the lid & the rest of the cones hung down into the shoe box. You can even decorate the box with festive wrapping paper or something & write things like "Good luck!" or "We'll miss you!"

I'd stop by your local Dairy Queen and ask if you can buy a few cone holders. They usually hold 4 cones. I'd then put those in a larger cardboard box. Good luck, and post pics!

Those are absolutely adorable! I would love to trick people, but I'm sure they'd enjoy them anyway, because they look so so good *_*!!!

And for transportation, I'd say to get one of coffee holder things O_o; they'd probably be good.
