It’s part of the principal’s duty in the middle of the semester to interview all the new students and make sure that they aren’t turning into psychotic maniacs obsessed with using their powers for world domination.
Baekhyun isn’t exactly sure how Chanyeol passes the interview, but the slightly awed look on Chanyeol’s face brings other worries to Baekhyun’s mind.
Chanyeol is usually only awed by things crazier and weirder than him.
“Oh my god, he’s just awesome.” Chanyeol says with a suitably breathy voice, and Baekhyun swears that there are sparkles surrounding the other. He wants to ask more, but is interrupted then, by the vice principal, a skinny looking blond guy by the name of Lee Hyukjae who looks like he has something permanently up his ass, who tells him that Principal Lee (okay, it was weird that both the principal and vice-principal had the same last name, but in Korea, he supposed it happened pretty often) would see him now.
Chanyeol’s definition of awesome turns out to be a man with a long trailing beard and a pencil thin moustache. He smells like Chanyeol (meaning that he hasn’t taken a bath in like, ever), and has this strange wandering look in his eyes like he isn’t entirely all there.
Baekhyun spends the rest of the interview sipping the tea he’s offered, trying not to be preoccupied by the way the principal’s beard blows softly in the wind whenever the rotating fan comes by. It’s so shiny and soft that Baekhyun wonders how it’s so well maintained when the mop on the principal’s head looks like he hid spoons in his hair.
“Oh yes, I forgot. Did you want any sugar with your tea?” The principal asks, pulling a spoon out of his hair and offering it to Baekhyun.
Baekhyun nearly chokes on it.
Luckily, the interview ends without any more mishap, and Baekhyun stumbles out of the room, wearily looking at Chanyeol who looks every part the pubescent fangirl.
“He’s awesome isn’t he?!” Chanyeol half squeals, and Baekhyun doesn’t answer because that’s what he does 99.9% of the time since he’s pretty sure Chanyeol doesn’t need him to answer anyway. “I didn’t drink the tea though. I saw his beard dip into it when he was making it. Probably why his beard is so shiny and smooth.”
Baekhyun balks. “What.”
“Yeah. The magic of tea.” Chanyeol nods sagely while Baekhyun chooses the moment where they turn out into the main corridor where the rest of civilization is to throw up.
“Oh, hey.” Chanyeol’s eyes light up when Baekhyun finishes and realizes everyone is staring at him. “You’re really really pretty when you glow like that.”
