They teach you to be totally fearless when fighting demons.

Well, maybe not fearless. Fear can be a good thing, keeps you cautious, keeps you smart, and sometimes keeps you alive. But to not be paralyzed by fear-

Demon Hunters are totally taught that. They need to be able to face down baskerhunds, Boyars, even Demon Kings without qualm or wibble.

But an adoptive brother/father/teacher can also be very understanding when a movie about insectoid alien lifeforms infecting and killing of people gives his brand new apprentice nightmares after seeing it. Even if the apprentice won't really admit it. But as an experienced demon hunter, he can certainly make up a way on how to kill said insectoid alien lifeforms should they be hiding nearby.
