alive and well

My surgery is over and I'm alive to tell all about it. We got there about 30 minutes early (just as I knew we would) and they didn't call me back until like 11:45 or 12:00. That really sucked. Anyway, they stuck the little monitor thingys to me and then they got ready to "numb" my skin and put in the IV. That is by far the dumbest thing I've ( Read more... )

I'm very glad that you are okay!!! What exactly did they do to your mouth?

I'm never taking birth control again! I gained too much weight!!!! I'll just stick to my trusty method of crossing my fingers and hoping the best! ;)

I'm also glad that your assistant said what she did. At least now she'll make conscious efforts to be your a.s.s.i.s.t.a.n.t. I hope, anyway.

Basically they took tissue from behind my top molars and put it behind my front four bottom teeth. I have to wear a stent to cover the top of my mouth (so my tongue won't bother where they took the tissue) and I have stitches coming on the front of my bottom teeth. It really isn't hurting at all, just slightly uncomfortable. I couldn't eat/drink anything hot yesterday, everything had to be cold or room temperature. AND I have to eat with the stent so I lose half the taste. Eh, I'll live. Maybe it'll make me eat less (but I doubt it).

I've gained a lot of weight too, I wonder how much is because of the birth control. However, thinking of Beth (Fowler) and her three year old son, and crossing my fingers isn't quite good enough for me!! (LOL) However, I am proud to say that Sunday night I informed Aaron he could plan to stop by the store or not see me for the next month or so! (Huge step for me).

Thanks for checking up on me :)

I blame my weight gain on several things. Birth control (ortho tri cyclen) and the patch (each for around 3.5 years), the fact that my sophomore year at OSU I found out I might have cancer (never came back conclusive, yet I still have a golf ball+ sized mass in my liver) and the mere fact that I was in school and on my own. I stopped being a vegetarian my sophomore year as well, so that might have something to do with it.

If you do call and don't get an answer, it's because my house is in a hole and reception sucks. Leave a message or text me.
