Kondou with anyone other than Otae kind of breaks my brain, to be honest, but he turns Hijikata unabashedly sappy in a way I really, really like. Like, REALLY like.

And yeah, Hijikata's hot, but Kondou's hot in a vaguely embarrassing way that just needs to be celebrated more often, because, hello? Big, loyal, earnest man--what's not to love? *g*
