pants! and Spore

Today I did something I thought I wouldn't, and bought skinny jeans. They are red and black and don't make my tighs look big. My main complaint with straight-legged jeans on women is that they make average weight people look fat (people already quite thin look fine). This is kind of a generalisation, because I have seen them look nice on bigger ( Read more... )

I'm normally a 12-14 in jeans (depends on the cut), but in skinny jeans I really have to squeeze into a 14 and end up looking awful. Half the women who are wearing them ought to rethink it in my opinion - I'm sure they're doing themselves some internal damage.

I think 'don't worry, it'll stretch' is a standard selling-line at Just Jeans. I've been given it several times, and no, the pants in question didn't stretch.

Agreed, it's bad advice. A few washes gets rid of the various starches and chemicals used to make jeans hang straight or fold without too many wrinkles, which can give the appearance of stretching as they become softer and more pliable. But most jeans shrink 5-10% after a few washes anyway, even when the label states they're pre-shrunk.

Apparently Spore's fun/enjoyment factor decreases the further you go. Which sucks :(

Quite liking the Tribe phase so far, but it might go on too long (which the creature phase seemed to). The creature editor seemed to be the strength of the Creature phase, not the game play. Playing social rather than exterminating everything you see seems to make for a better creature phase too.

We didn't figure out how to use herds for ages, so the poor thing was always getting mauled by groups in the creature phase. We're about to start the tribe phase.
