Smallville Comic Season 11 Episode 1 Review

Apr 14, 2012 10:40

My response... Meh!

Okay to be fair it's the first issue, and I'm sure they were just using it as a quick introduction base. At least a girl can hope. Right?

A few of my observations...

DISCLAIMER: DC owns the comic. My thoughts are my own.

Yeah, this isn't floating my boat. It's not going to make me buy the comic. I think I'll stick to the fanfics.

I'm torn. I feel like it's keeping me connected to the show in some strange way. But is that any reason to keep reading it? I don't know.

What Leanne said. To me, this 'Season 11' just feels like fanfic from the writers, and to be honest I've seen better artwork and writing from the real fanfic community. And unlike TPTB, we're not restricted to canon/hetero 'ships and PG-ratings. ;-)

That is totally true. Without the restrictions the writers can produce much better work

I liked it a fair bit more than you did. I took Lois's dream talk as pure comedy, showing that she works in mysterious ways. And she doesn't need to be like the rest of Metropolis, breathlessly waiting for the day's first viewing of Superman - she knows he'll come back to her when he's done and kiss her awake - yum!

Thats a VERY good way to look at the lois part She isn't holding out baited breath. I like that view.

I snicker at Lois' dreams, and agree with the above opinion about Lois not worrying about Clark coming back to her, etc.

...Ohhhh, Lex. Lex's treatment so far gives me hope, here. I agree about them capturing the essence of Lex, with his intelligence, thought on the subject of Clark's fly-overs, and his own openly-held and admitted fascination... as well as his attention to detail *g*

I'm very hmmm about Clark as Superman right now. I like the lack of whining so far, at least? *coughs* It'll be interesting to see how they're gonna 'grow up' his character, and how they handle Superman-Lex and Clark-Lex interactions (because it may be a bit of a travesty if they don't address it... though the reverse might also be true if they do it badly).

I kind of shrug over Chloe and Oliver.

Calling 'the Apocalypse event' "Contact" made me laugh. Oh, Smallville! :)
