My response... Meh!
Okay to be fair it's the first issue, and I'm sure they were just using it as a quick introduction base. At least a girl can hope. Right?
A few of my observations...
DISCLAIMER: DC owns the comic. My thoughts are my own.
Chloe and Oliver look really good together. But there was something odd about him pining for Clark on the balcony when his wife was right there warm and waiting for him. I can totally see a Chloe, Oliver, Clark threesome in their future.
Lois was all alone having strange dreams? Okay so not like Lois. The Superman-T was a cute touch. But it was only an introduction right? Here are my hopes again. Please don’t' turn her into a character. Keep her the woman she is. Strong and independent!
Lex, Lex, Lex what can I say? I do have to mention here that the art work was pretty good so far. Lex however is brilliant. To me they capture the essence that Michael brought to the part. So I was very happy with the way he looked. And of course Lex would be the first to notice that Clark does not have his panties on. *G*
The space station was a nice touch, but Clark without his panties looks like the blue chick from X-M. Naked and odd...just odd. I mean that shouldn't be a bad thing right? This was. And what was with the "look up in the sky" comment? How big is that space station? Don't insert classic lines just to insert classic lines. Please!
That lawsuit that took superman out of his panties was a travesty of justice. You really just can't change an icon like that what was that judge thinking??? What were the creators thinking? What the hell can they do with a pair of red panties anyway?
Back to Clark erm I mean Superman. The artwork on him was nice. I preferred the cover version of him that was excellent. The drawings inside vary from fair to very nice. At one point the drawing looked more like a very young John Travolta than our Clark.
So, did I Love it? Hate it? No, it was just okay. I was excited to see everyone again even in book form. (I'm such a needy fangirl!!!) Will I buy the next issue? Probably, if I'm honest. I might even buy it in print for sentimental reasons. I am however hoping for more. MUCH MORE! They really need to step up the story line a lot to keep their audience interested. They can't count on the diehard fans that will buy it no matter what.
They should have contacted some fantastic fanfiction writers that could have given them a much better introduction!
So for anyone who read it thoughts??? Feel free to discuss...
