Thank you. I agree. Chris really is the original Douche.

Luke's always leaned towards being gentle. He could be firm, he could be argumentative, but Ash is the one that'll take a swing without a second's hesitation.

I think to some degree, Ash is coming to terms with that, too.

That was a shitty thing Chris said but yeah, I don't think he meant it to sound as it did.

Intense but great chapter.

The thing that came across really strong with Chris on the show (at least for me) was his utter thoughtlessness. He may not "mean" for things to happen, but his own thoughtless and moronic behavior lays the seed for bad things.... like Reid being on the road in the first place, since Chris had decided to become an asshat about his health.

But I do think Ash still has a little ways to go in dealing with everything that's happened. He's not resolved who he was with who he is just yet. Ultimately, that's the goal.

I loved the little Holden/Carl scene. It just perfect, you know? Something I can imagine happening IRL. Nothing over the top, nothing flashy. And I like that Holden's just there, not praying, not trying to force his beliefs on Carl, just sitting there with him.

I was wondering if Ash was ever going to release his emotions. He had been a bit too calm for my liking.

Good to know Jason is going to be okay. I still hope they stay in Oakdale.

I like that each of the member of Ash's family are so distinct; yet at the same time, they hold the kind of quality the man he'd once been would have admired. Carl may be rough, but he's true. Lanie's blunt, but in her own ways graceful. And Jason's just an awesome kid who could let the crap in his life get him down but doesn't.

But in Carl, I can see some of those same qualities in Holden being what attracted Luke to the bar owner in the first place.

Loved that Ash gave Chris the smackdown, Chris was so thoughtless.
He had it coming! Glad that jason is going to be okay, hopefully Ash will be okay too...eventually.

Thanks. I felt like something needed to happen. Eventually more will occur, but this is what I felt might happen in this situation.
