This was a bit of a roller coaster ride. From being happy for Jason to sad for Carl and Lanie to amused at Lucinda and Carl. Another great chapter.

I don't know how I feel about the Lily/Ash scene. I'm glad she held back, but thinking about what Faith, Natalie, and Ethan went through when Luke left...makes me wish Ash would just suck it up and go see his siblings.

I didn't intend it to be as much a roller coaster ride in one blow. However, this entire story is turning out to be that. lol

As for the kids... not to worry. That gets addressed sooner than Ash would like.

Thanks. The scene with Lanie and Ash was added. Deleted. Added. Deleted. I finally decided to keep it, because it shows some of the dynamics between them. Regardless of anything else, they're both human. I see part of their dynamics as staving off overwhelming loneliness in each other.

I just adore Carl, he's a great character. He's just awesome.
Haha, Luke/Ash in bed with a woman.. that's just odd, but then again it fits...

I really enjoy this story, can't wait for more :)

Thanks. I'm having fun with the OCs in this one. I sort of see Carl is a take-no-prisoner kind of guy. On the one hand, he'd do anything for the people he cares about. On the other, he can be downright vicious if the need arises.

Carl kinda reminds me of Reid if Reid had not been a doctor. Their personnas are a lot alike. If Carl were gay, he could be an older Reid. Love this Reid, just can't figure our where luke and Lanie are going to end up.

lol. I actually based Carl more on a cross between Gibbs and Franks on NCIS. I guess the effect is similar, though. As for Luke and Lanie, they're best friends, and their friendship was forged in fire. So it's not something that will break. But that's all they'll ever be.
