♨ Ten Apples and Cinnamon - Voice / Action ♨

[Stay occupied, stay occupied. Desperately Winry's been trying to throw herself so far into her work so that she may forget about everything. Normally this isn't hard, but a handful of things have been weighing heavily on her lately. Between Ed's announcement about Pride, Donatello's odd behavior, and her attempts to ignore the war, this girl has ( Read more... )

[Edward usually goes to the smithy by mid-morning after taking care of food and any household chores, so if Winry's still there, he'll likely see her.]

man I've been thinking about that too. time to remedy this! wings_thatwait June 24 2010, 00:01:00 UTC
[She will be, still sleeping too. She'll have the table cloth from the knife table bundled up close to her like a child with a stuffed teddy-bear.]

[Wha- oh, Winry. What in the world is she doing here, sleeping like that? The workplace is not a bedroom, and who knows who could come in and see her like that >:/

Not one to leave a helpless lady alone like that (provided he has nothing better to do), Edward settles down at the counter and starts working on bending and looping his chainmail. He's got a lot of work to do, but at least it's quiet, aside from a bit of jingling. He'd rather not wake her up if he can avoid it. He'll wait for hours if need be; that's what knights are for, after all.]

[Hours is basically the right idea. She probably won't wake up until sometime around noon, and even then she gets up because the circulation in her arm had been cut off from sleeping on it. Slowly Winry sits up, eyes half-lidded. Frowning she moves her arm trying to get the blood flowing back into it. The pins-and-needles feeling isn't enjoyable at all. After a few moments of this the girl looks around the room. There's a figure she can't quite make out, so she rubs her eyes.]

Good[What time was it? Oh, she didn't care.]morning.

[Oh, she's up. Edward glances over briefly, but doesn't move or stop what he's doing.] It's the afternoon, actually. You slept through the morning.

[After she removes the sleep from her eyes, she blinks a couple times and - So that's who it is! Edward, wasn't it? Winry remember seeing him around, and Sokka mentioning him, but they had never really talked.]

Sorry, good afternoon then. I - [sleepy yawn] - hope I'm not in the way. [She begins to fold the table cloth at a sluggish pace.]

[Edward shakes his head, looping another set of rings into the suit he's been working on.]

Not at all. But if you're that tired, you should go home to a more comfortable place to sleep.

Maybe I will. [Winry stands, and walks over to the table the cloth belongs to.] But it was easier and safer to stay over night.

Why were you working so hard? Is there an important project you need to finish?

Reply

crytearsofjoy June 26 2010, 01:15:05 UTC
Mm, just that. I have a request I need to fill out, and I've put it off for a while due to some circumstances.

You should be careful not to wear yourself out just to complete a project. Your welfare is much more important.

Thanks for the concern, but I'm used to pulling all-nighters. Plus, this project is pretty important.

What are you working on? Or is it private?

Reply

crytearsofjoy June 27 2010, 02:27:29 UTC
Sorry, it's private. The person who requested it asked me to keep the information on a need-to-know basis.

[Edward "hrm"s and shrugs in response, focusing on the mail again. He's done that before - not too long ago, in fact - so he won't pry. He doesn't need to know, after all.]

[She'll allow some silence before:] May I ask what you're working on?
