adventures in potty-land

Ainsley is at the point in potty training where she won't voluntarily go in a pull up or panties. This presents a problem because she is still not over her fear of public restrooms. Automatic flushing toilets freak me out, and I'm a big girl.

I remember my first floating swimming suit, it was so awesome! Terribly chunky and very old school, but it was ~safety colour orange~ XD

Ok... I went through the *exact* same thing with Riley. I actually (don't laugh) had to sit behind her on the toilet (I kept my clothes on, btw) while she went. This seemed to do the trick. She was still apprehensive but we didn't go through a total meltdown.

To this day (she'll be 4 tomorrow) I still have to hold my hand over the red eye so it won't flush on her because she freaks out if I don't. It's funny because as soon as she goes in a public restroom she looks to see if it's an automatic toilet before she does anything else, LOL.

So, I can feel your pain. It's frustrating, I know. Hang in there!

I didn't even think to cover the sensor! And thanks for that little trick of sitting behind her. That might work in a pinch. Isn't it odd the things we do for our children?

birds regurgitate food for their young, it's disgusting, until you find yourself biting off pieces of fruit for your kids. It's still disgusting, but you now find yourself disgusting. ;)
