Baby, the stars shine bright

In my previous post, I mentioned having my fortune told, just for the heck of it. I'm not one to believe in fortunes - heck, the fortune teller seemed kind of unsure about some of her predictions (some were too generalized, some were contradicting) - but I really wanted to satisfy my curiosity about fortune-telling. I can only hope that some of these predictions come true - well, I guess I'll have to work hard if I want to achieve some of these. Other predictions, like the one about my non-existent love life becoming existent, are not in my control, as I cannot control emotions.

Anyway, I'm taking note of these predictions so I can look back on them someday.

Studies:
- I'm going to graduate with honors. Magna cum laude, to be specific. (I wish!) Someone's going to beat me to the title of summa cum laude, and it's a Chinese guy who's tall and slightly muscular. (Gee, who could that be?)

- I am not in the right course, because I find some subjects difficult. However, I can still get by and survive my course, and even graduate with honors. Also, I am experiencing difficulty in a certain subject right now, and next year, I will also find a certain subject difficult. Lucky for me, though, that I have someone - she's female (Jhenel? Andrea?) - who always sticks by me to help, and will continue to help me with whatever difficult subject I'll be having next year *coughAccountingcough*.

- I will be a consistent Dean's Lister. (I hope so!)

- I will be a candidate for the JTA (Junior Term Abroad), and will be sent to the country of my choice. (Yay!)

Love Life:
- There is someone who likes me right now, and who wants to court me. He's keeping his distance because he senses that I'm too high-strung and preoccupied with other things (like studies), so he fears that I might not be able to give him the time of day. He's tall, Chinese, slightly chubby, and not that good-looking (I don't know whose standards of good-looking the fortune teller was talking about). He's got money (upper middle class, the fortune teller says) and he's nice, so my parents will like him. If I entertain him and answer his wooing, we will be an item for two years. (Who is this mystery guy? If he exists, that is. I do not think that anyone finds me attractive.)

- I was advised not to push away or to ignore any stirring feelings of love (and not to be the jaded anti-romantic that I am) so that my love life may flourish - and if I do that, I will have a love life sometime this year. Uh-huh. That's easier said than done. And I doubt that I will have a love life by this year. =_=

- Apparently, I like older men - well, that's what the fortune teller said. Sometime between the ages of 25-30, I will marry a man 5-7 years older than me. Obviously, we did not meet in school. We will have met through a friend. My husband is financially stable, kind, loving and a bit conservative. (Well, if this prediction comes true, I hope my husband won't make me give up anime, manga or gaming. :p) The reason he won't marry me at an early age is that he wants to prepare for our future. We will have three children. (I don't think I want to have children! Seriously.)

- There are other men in my life whom I just might fall for. The fortune teller sees a not-so-tall Chinese guy who's business-minded. (Who? Who? Please let it be *insert name here*, and not *insert names here*, because I can't imagine myself in a relationship with them. XD)

Career:
- Immediately after graduating, I will go and find work abroad, because of my strong desire to travel. Because my parents will be worried if I spend time in a country too far away, I will be staying in a country that's not so far from the Philippines. (Japan, I hope. :D) There, I will have a stable, high-paying and white collar job, and my superiors will be pleased with me. (I can only hope this is true.) But I won't stay there for too long, because I will go there for the experience of working abroad and staying in a foreign land. I will return when I have gained enough experience and earned enough money.

- After working abroad, I will start my own business or continue the family business, because my parents would rather have me put up my own business rather than work for someone else. (That's kind of true.)

Family:
- The fortune teller saw lots of financial opportunities for my dad this year. She did warn me, though, to tell my dad not to easily engage in business ventures that might be mere get-rich-quick schemes (I don't think my dad is that naive. I believe in him. :D).

- Someone in the family is a bit rebellious. Not overly rebellious as in doing drugs, stealing, or anything of that sort, but I was advised to keep a watchful eye on her, as her friends might be leading her astray.

Miscellaneous Predictions:
- I will go abroad twice or thrice this year. The first two trips will be with my family, sometime between March to May (Macao and the US?), while the third trip will take place late this year, sometime in October (Semestral break? So it's not the conference in Japan that I so want to attend? Haha.). Accompanying me for the third trip won't be my family, but my "special someone" (whoever he is, I have no idea).

- I will lose weight and look better sometime this year. (Hugs to tanteicchi for saying that I am pretty, even if I seriously think otherwise.) Um... yeah. Okay.

Well, those are pretty much the predictions I can recall. No, wait, I think those are all. If ever there were other predictions made, they must've slipped my mind.
