I don't know man, I think that the ability of video game designers to be able to so completely wrap up a player in the plot that they actually feel some sort of emotional jolt when something in the game happens. Obviously there's a huger difference. When you play Resident Evil at 2 am in pitch dark and some huge motherfucker jumps through the window at your face, yeah, most people will twitch, hell, i've seen a few of em scream. But to be able to involve a person in the plot of the game, and actually feel pangs of regret or despair for a character is definitely an attribute of a well-planned as well as well-written game. I have played several games where I truly felt sadness or anger towards a certain character, or because of the actions of one
