But seriously, if you read my blog and haven't play FF7, you probably don't care about it being spoiled for you. But in case I've missed someone in my mental list, this does have a major spoiler. But seriously people, the game came out 8 years ago]
[warning again, don't read my post either]
It's a really interesting article. It's basically about the emotions that people feel while playing games. Notably the one major one you'd feel in the game. I mean, the game was spoiled for me, I knew about Aeris's death, yet when it happened, I actually felt awful. Like a deep feeling of sadness. It's really interesting that games like that can draw out emotions in people. I guess it's a good tribute to the makers of the game to be able to do something so profound. High quality movies are the ones that can give you a deep emotional rush. Whether it be excitement or sadness. For a game to be able to do this. I think it shows the same level of quality.
On some level, you'd think it would be easier. You have to play, what, like, 20 hours to get to the big emotional moment? (Keep in mind, I generally suck at games). So the game developer had a solid 20 hours in which to wrap you up. Film makers have significantly less time. But at the same time, films are known to cause that type of emotion, games ...well, should be fun. We don't have the same expectations of them, which is why they perhaps shock us so much when they are dramatic.
That's a little ranty I guess. I just thought it was an interesting article and I had thoughts on it.
It's early in the morning people. I'm allowed to be a bit ranty.
