[ there is a sudden commotion at the front door, a sound like a hundred bells ringing just outside of it. a disturbingly giddy Masqué turns and leaves his children to discuss the poll's outcome amongst themselves. someone delivering mail at this hour? to Masqué, that isn't strange at all. confident that he will return to a good meal, he goes to check what's been delivered.
five minutes later, something has evidently gone very wrong. the children hear a glass-shattering shriek as Masqué storms back into the parlor, a claw furiously clenched around what seems to be a letter... ]

With a snap of his fingers, Belphegor, Naoya, Masamune, and Daisuke are thrown down the basement stairs by a strange and very violent force. as soon as they've been hurled through the door, Masqué immediately locks it again, preforming a complicated seal to further reinforce the prison's only exit.]
