[After getting rid of Kanaya, Karkat will quickly change his shirt, enough that the cuts and blood aren't completely visible. It's not perfect; there's still some smeared blood on his neck and it's dripping down his hand, but he's in a hurry and he doesn't care.

Getting to his feet is difficult; there's immediate pain and protest from his knee, but he's able to grab his school bag and to start throwing his things in there-- his husktop, his sickle, clothes, schoolbooks, anything in sight, still shaking and barely able put weight on his leg as he moves.]

I told you. I'm fucking off to Sollux's. I'll take care of it when I've gotten the hell away from this bullshit constantly aggravating hellhive.

Somehow, in your state, I doubt your ability to do so.

Come along now, I'll patch you up and then drop you off at Sollux's.

I'm not your responsibility. You're not my fucking man lusus. My lusus is downstairs, although like everyone else in my life, he'll probably kill me if I go near him.

I don't want your help. I just want to get out of here, so get the fuck out of my way.

Yes well, unfortunately for you, I'm not keen on people I like dying around me while I sit and watch.

So I'm making you my responsibility and I'm not getting out of the way. Karkat, you're bleeding everywhere, I'm not going to let you keep going on like that.

[He hadn't noticed the blood he'd smeared on the doorframe or dripped on the floor; at the Doctor's statement, he glances at his obviously bloody hand and an expression of shock mixed with nauseous disgust crosses his face. He lets go of the doorframe and hides the hand behind his bag again, not meeting the Doctor's eyes.]

I'm not dying. It's just a few cuts. I don't want your help.

[He doesn't want anyone looking at him right now. Sollux is blind, so who cares, but he's not sure after all he can go out in the street like this. He'll be limping and moving slowly, and so many people will see his blood. But he doesn't want to stay in this house another second.]

Fine, don't take my help. But you're going to attract plenty more attention from anyone else on the street walking about like that.

[The Doctor leans against the doorframe, purposefully not looking at any of the blood either. Partially for Karkat's sake and for his own. Perhaps this is karma for all the times he's behaved that way to Amy and Rory. Or perhaps he really is too old to able to get through to someone like Karkat.

Fuck you.

[The Doctor is right, and he can't stand the idea, and he can't stand having his insecurities used to control him even if the Doctor doesn't understand that. But after having his obvious injuries and open bleeding pointed out to him, his heart is racing at the thought of going outside.]

Fine, let me in your stupid box. I'll patch it up myself.

Oi, she's not stupid.

[She's the most brilliant, most beautiful, most sexy box in the universe. Aaaand stepping aside to let Karkat in.]

Fine, whatever.

[>Enter the Doctor's girlfriend's box.

>Fail to be impressed by internal roominess.

>Actually he just sort of limps inside and leans against a wall, careful not to get any blood on it this time.]

Now leave me alone.

[Drops the first aid kit near him and gives him an expectant look.]

Are you planning to stay and stare at me?

Quite possibly.

I'm very bored, you know.

Does your species just lack the capacity to take a hint?

[But he knows he probably can't actually stitch himself up completely on his own, so with an resentful glance at the Doctor, he opens the first aid kit and pulls off his shirt. There's a shallow slash across his neck that's still dripping blood down his chest, fresh and darkening red bruises all over his torso, especially around his ribs, and a long and deep cut to his arm that's currently bleeding the heaviest. That's where he starts, but it's his right arm and though he can apply rubbing alcohol to it, his movements with his left arm are clumsy.

He sits hunched in around himself, unwilling to ask or even accept help but waiting for it to be forced on him.]

No. Just me.

[The Doctor steps back involuntarily at the site of Karkat's wounds. Even after 900 years, he's not used to gore. Generally he gets out of whatever disaster just happened before the clean up starts or wakes up in a medical bay way hours after being fixed up.

Wishing he could just call Rory, the Doctor swallows and begins helping clean up the wounds.]

[He shrugs at him a little, but only half seriously. He knows he needs the help, but he has to protest because he doesn't like the thought of the Doctor looking at his blood, touching it, thinking about its color. His head feels dizzy and he's nauseous and he starts to feel like he's about to throw up.]
