A; Phone

While the games I most enjoy are those without love--that is, where the motive is irrelevant--I despise those who do not think, and merely dismiss things they do not understand as illogical or unreasonable.

[Both words are spoken with a mocking drawl.]Therefore, as a gift to those who are making this game far more interesting, I will ( Read more... )

[Rather than answering the phone, this response comes up from behind you.

It's your 'brother'. You probably haven't noticed him much; he's been droned for a while, but now, well. Drones don't have that jerky-yet-slinky walk he's got going on, and they don't have such sly smirking faces.]

Is something happening with the town, Sister?

[Oh yes, he's going to call you that. He's adapted very quickly.]

[Oh, her "brother" is awake again. She looks over at him.]

The town has seen fit to provide more amusement for those who are willing to take it.

[approaching her]

And they let me sleep through it? How uncourteous of them.

I'm afraid you didn't receive a letter, due to being asleep, and so you can't participate.

Well, not the same way everyone else is. I'm sure you could find another way.

[The phone gets picked up at Veidt's, but it's not Veidt who answers.]

They are punishing us- getting in our heads-

Say all you want. I'm not killing a child. Not letting them bring Julia here, even if-

Even if it means she'd live again.

There's nothing I can do to convince you, I'm simply explaining why others choose to play. That punishment is taking place simply places more validity toward my statement.

However, what if the punishment is that she is brought here, and the reward is that she gets to live on in your world?

[sharp bark of a laugh]

She's dead. Bringing her back there would just get her killed again.

Doubt they can do that anyway.

[pause]

Bringing her here would-

[If he's honest with himself, bringing her here would be like a second chance for him. He could go back to keeping her safe, and without the feud here there'd be no one the try to hurt her except the town, and he could die for her again and again and again and let no one touch her-]

They wouldn't do that.

[Because there'd be too much of a selfish upside for him.]

Why not? They have brought the dead here often.

Well thought out.

It still might be too hard for those who don't think to understand, though. But they can't be taught anyway.

Hopefully. It's always interesting to hear other peoples views on the chaos of the town.

My personal favourites are the people who can still manage to divide other peoples actions into black and white.

It makes them feel more secure in their own choices, or they are too simpleminded to consider alternatives.

[Meanwhile, Kohaku had dropped a small parcel of tea on the ground, which is why she was at the park.]

My my, that was clumsy of me.

[...oh, what are those]

Eh....c-cats?

[Cats that are very willing to bite and tear away at her flesh, indeed. There are fifty of them attempting to get at her.]

[Poof]

[A burst of smoke appeared before the swarm of cats. By the time it clears.]

Hoy! That was a close shave there. Goodness, I hope they weren't after that tea I made. It's not exactly catnip.

[Kohaku is in the sky, riding on a broom.]

It's not confusing to understand that you and anybody else who has killed are assholes.

[No sleep makes him pretty grumpy, okay.]

You dismiss considering reasons in favor of whatever opinion validates yours.

I'm sure you have a great reason. I can tell by how sorry you seem for hurting others.
