Yay for the Man-moth!

I have so little idea what that poem actually means, but I kind of adore the strange figure of a man-moth climbing and climbing only to fall, then riding the subway backward. And especially the tear-eating. So strange but evocative.

I have to admit this poem has always struck me a having a film noir/ graphic novel feel. Color-wise it feels very grey, very city smudged. To be very pop culture: it also reminds me of Batman, or perhaps just the urban legend/mysery that builds up around such personas. The imagery is exquisite - the bits that you mention are ones that cause me to squee, and I also LOVE the juxtaposition of the hat shadow and the moon as a hole in the sky.

I love a deftly written persona poem - it's one of the current poetic narratives I'm toying with - and this particular piece is always inspiring. And to think it was all inspired by a typo...

Oh, you lovely, amazing, talented woman! *hugs you and showers you with confetti and kisses*

Thank you so much my favourite crow! Martiday, hee...only if I get to declare an international crowgirl celebration week, where people have to randomly poem at each other, post pictures of beautiful things no one else notices and just in general spread love all around.
You know, that actually sounds like a brilliant idea. We should totally do that this summer *loves*

And I LOVE your poetic buquet ;) "My Star" is so sweet, and I didn't know the Rilke one yet (although I'm a huge fan of him; I've written two term papers about him while at university :) It is an excellent translation, too; the feelings and images at the end are slightly different, but they're strong and beautiful in both versions.

I'm happy now.

Thank you so much, my love! ♥
