Lainey was out for a run, and stopped into the kitchen to get some water and something light to eat after. She paused when she heard someone yelling. Instinctively, she moved toward the source, her guard up. She saw only a pretty woman sitting alone. 'Hi there, you all right?' she asked, glancing around to make sure she hadn't missed something important.
Hearing someone else's voice, Amy had just been about to yell again, thinking perhaps it was that stupid eyepatch woman, whoever she was. Except no, it was a real person, standing in front of her like she was a crazy person. She had the decency to blush and then shake her head. "No.. I mean, honestly I don't really know."
She frowned just slightly. "I know this might sound a bit mad, but it feels like there's someone following me. And I don't mean just since I got here. It's like.." she trailed off, shaking her head.
Lainey sat down near the other woman. 'Honey, I was a cop--I'm used to 'a bit mad--add this place to it and there's not much I won't believe.'" she said with a smile. 'Want to talk about it?' she asked. 'If nothing else, I'm a good listener.' It was a function of her job, and also her education. She'd chosen psychology as her degree, wanting to know more about people and how they behaved and reacted.
Oh right. Yeah she forgot about how weird this place was and how everyone kind of must have to just accept the weird things that were happening. She looked a little relieved to know that no one was going to put her in a nut house. "Um.. sure. I mean, maybe it will help me figure out what's going on." Yeah she had no idea how bad it really was.
"Sometimes when I'm by myself.. I see this.. woman. It's like she pushes back part of the wall sometimes.. or, I dunno. She's a woman with an eyepatch and she tells me it's almost time, that I'm almost ready, and soon I'll have to push." Except push what. Clearly she wasn't pregnant. Was she?
