Thetis had been a bit upset when she found out her father wasn't here. However, she wasn't too terribly worried. No one was trying to hurt her and she figured he would find her eventually. She kept his trump card on her at all times just in case it activated while she was here and set towards keeping comfortable. When Batman was prowling the halls, she was in the library perusing a text on marine biology. She had a few other books around her of a variety of interests, including a book of Shakespeare next to a book on castles. She sat in a large comfortable chair with her feet tucked under her as she flipped the pages in her text book while she read.

Batman was standing practically at Thetis's elbow reading over her shoulder before he spoke, perhaps giving her a mild shock. "Eclectic choice of reading. Unless you're only interested in the one and pressing flowers with the rest?"

At the sound of his voice so close by Thetis let out a small scream and the book she was reading went flying in the air. "SHIT!" She mostly fell, half tumbled out of the chair she had been sitting on to get away from him. Then she blinked and gaped. She gaped. It was a man in costume? It looked like a costume. "You scared the hell out of me!" She exclaimed indignantly.

"Sorry to startle you." he said, plucking the book out of the air at about eye level. He had meant to startle her a bit, of course, but he had obviously overshot dramatic entrance and sailed clear on over to frightening young girls.

He took a step back to create a more comfortable distance between them and offered a friendly smile that conveyed more genuine warmth than you might think possible from a man in a bat costume. "Relax, I'm a friend... provided you're one of the good guys."

"I've come to help. I understand that people are trapped here and I'm here to help you find a way to escape, but I've just arrived and I need someone to explain what this place is all about." He offered her book back to her, still open to her page. "What's your name?"

A bit away from where Thetis was Gray was set up in one the empty sitting rooms with the sketch pad and art set he'd gotten from his brother. He was idly sketching a woman with long flowing hair standing among tropical trees and flowers as his mind wandered. Really he should talk to Jack soon. Jack or the Master one either to set some of the things he remember straight or to get more of his memories back.

He sighed softly and set his charcoal pencil down to pick up a pencil of vivid pink.

Dick stepped into the room where the young man was drawing. He came within a few feet before he called for his attention.

"Hello. I'm Batman."

((What I'm going to do here is start a new thread, even though I'm not finished the one above. Dick wants to talk to as many people as he can in one night, and he's going though the castle methodically to do so, so for ease of play, we'll just assume Dick finishes talking to Thetis, then moves on to Gray, and so on even though I'm playing the threads simultaneously.))

The man tensed as the other spoke before slowly forcing himself to relax he looked back over his shoulder at him. "Better then Gray I suppose." He set his pad aside turning his full attention to the man. "Gray...Smith."

(^_^ what I was guessing. I'll toss up one my other pups up in a bit for you to play with.)

Another person didn't seem to recognize Batman. So much for franchising. Without his reputation preceding him he supposed he would have to rely on the old Grayson charm to carry the day.

"Hi Gray. I just got here. I'm trying to meet people and find out what what the situation is in here. Do you know if there's anyone that people in here look to for leadership?"

Devon was seated quietly in the current deserted dining room in one the pools of light. By her elbow rested an electronic reader, ignored in favor for the odd mismatched Tarot deck. The young woman was studying one the cards in her five card spread, her lips pursed. "A young male. Dark hair and eyes..." Her eyes went to the other cards. "Negative change...Smart..." She laid the card down. "What is that suppose to mean?"

A voice came from the shadows of the room "You will meet a tall, dark and handsome stranger." A masked figure stepped into the light, his black cape flowing behind him. "Or maybe I'm assuming the tall part?"

The woman tensed her hand going for the katana that normally rested at her hip. She silently cursed but relaxed when the man didn't attack and even quirked a smile at the joke about her reading. "Well. I normally don't get heights in the reading." She gathered her cards and looked back at him. "Take a seat? Or would you rather loom?" Yeah she was still being a touch sarcastic but the man had spook her and she was still unsure of his intentions. "I didn't get a name mister tall dark and handsome." She now was smiling fully, a bit of fire that belied any frailness the man might notice.

"I'm Batman." He didn't sit, instead placing his hands on the table and leaning over it slightly. "I just arrived and I'm trying to find out what the story with this place is. I want to find a way to get us all out of here. What can you tell me?"

Marco was headed down the hallways, his arm holding closely around a notebook, shuffling through it, frowning at the page up and page down of the book filled with names and dated. The book was thin, yet the page number was over a million. Maybe a joke from the producers side? Even so, the androgenic blonde was focusing intently on the book, flipping a few pages back and forth, scanning the names.

"Where are you, where are you..." he muttered to himself as he continued looking.

Batman fell into step beside him. "I'm right here. What can I help you with?"

Marco jumped, gasping and dropped his book, brown and blue eyes widening to look at Batman, and he blinked several times. This man, standing beside him, was none other then *batman* Marco knew nothing about comic's really, but even he had seen titles in the shops, like the Phantom, Batman and Superman. In a way he hoped this was a fake, because the real one would be... odd.

"Oh!" he stared."N-not you..."

Dick smiled. "Alright. Let me introduce myself, then. I'm Batman."
