Meeting in the Ballroom
Jack waited somewhat nervously in the ballroom for someone else - anyone - to arrive. He was never that comfortable thrust into the role of leader, even though he would always take up the role if no-one else was willing to take it. As now, for example. A part of him still hoped someone else at the meeting would be gung ho enough to want to take charge instead.
In any case, he'd set up the room in a manner that should make everyone feel included. He'd set out about thirty chairs in a circle, his own just another in the ring, even if it did have the flipchart next to it. (Thank god for Ianto: it wasn't a proper flipchart, but he had at least found a pad of decently large paper, which worked just fine propped up on a chair.) On the makeshift flipchart, Jack had written, in what he hoped was relatively intelligible handwriting:
Agenda
1. Arrivals and introductions
2. Basic facts for newcomers
- phone code (29.10)
- barrier
- kitchen (location)
- unicorns
- vampires
- Time Room
3. Time periods - biblical?
4. Useful equipment
- our own electronics
- lab beneath grotto
- any other equipment?
5. Who’s here
- places/years/dimensions/useful skills
- resurrections/people going missing
- new contact list?
6. Any other business/recent developments
- make a universal transmission if anything new discovered
Now all he had to do was wait for people to arrive. He had Tosh on standby at the castle entrance to guide anyone who didn't know their way here, but he hoped a good proportion of those who'd been at the castle longer would come too. He really needed their knowledge to add to his own.
((OOC: As you can see, I've started a thread for 'Arrivals and introductions' below. Once that thread's got going, I'll start a thread for the next agenda item and so on as time goes by. Obviously, the previous threads can still be added to as well, but hopefully this will give the meeting some structure and allow people to have their say in the right place without having to wait too long!
