Sorry, I'm a few days behind schedule, but here we go.
"Let the Right One In" is my second favorite episode of The Vampire Diaries, right behind "The Return." There are just so many wonderful things about it. It's a great Damon and Elena episode because they have a romantic scene in the rain that has some of that fiery, physical aggression that they've become so good at, but it has a really sweet moment, too. I really enjoy the scene between them (and Alaric) at the school, because, when Elena asks Damon to get serious, he totally does.
Damon: "I can't protect you, Elena. I don't know how many vampires there are in there. *snaps fingers* That's how long it takes you to get your head ripped off. I have to be able to get in and get out! I can't be distracted with your safety. Or, this'll end up a bloodbath that none of us walk away from, including Stefan..... I know. I get it. I understand."

I giggle every time I see that.
