Inspired by discussions with arabian and, more specifically, a conversation with butterfly, during which she got certain quotes stuck in my head. Also inspired by some life-affirming picspam from fluffyfrolicker ( here and here) and cranmers ( here) because, if they hadn't done that, I wouldn't have done this.I've never done anything quite like this before (and doubt if I ever will again ( Read more... )

Oh, this is SO INTERESTING, BECAUSE YES. I mean, all this episode did was make me hate Lexi more for always getting in between the Salvatores, but now that you bring all of this up, this does play into my theory that the real D/E began in "Bloodlines." It has always been real, it will always be real, it is not based on lies, subterfuge, or anything except honest connection and emotion.

RIGHT? At first, Lexi's role in 4.08 just irritated, and, yeah, I coudn't see past her undermining the brothers' relationship. But, I'd been having all these talks about how Sage/Finn and Lexi/Lee were most-likely sire bonds. Then, butterfly quoted a bunch of "Bloodlines" to me, and my brain exploded because YES, YES, SURELY THIS IS WHY WE HAD TO PUT UP WITH LEXI'S FACE.

I honestly believe that up until filming episode 7, Stefan/Elena was THE couple for the show. Then they saw that final scene with Damon and Elena and everything kind of crystallized that THIS is the story, they are THE couple. Because the next episode you have Lexi talking about it being "real" and it's obviously supposed to apply to Stefan and Elena. And, of course, episode 8 would have been written already, and probably 9 broken down, which brings us to 10. The Stefan/Elena love scene that plays over a song that equates their relationship to how cutting makes one numb. Stefan and Elena getting about two seconds of bliss before Elena found the Katherine picture. (Even Damon/Elena got a bit longer ( ... )

So, yeah, for me, it hit them in episode 07, and then began to play out in episode 11, that Damon and Elena are THE couple.

Yes. What you say makes a lot of sense. They started connecting in 1.03, but 1.07 was probably when I first felt like there was real sexual tension between them (instead of just plain ol' tension, lol). Not to mention that he did something for her that Stefan couldn't do which I like to think extends into other areas as well.

(And you're forgiven for not doing other things, this was lovely!)

Thank you! Glad to know it eased some of your Lexi-based pain, lol. I really love the way that different themes from throughout the series can be woven together like this. I love my show and its long memory. :D

Thank you again and again! I love the idea of picspam as a kind of medium for meta or for expressing something other than just love for a particular scene, and I never would have thought of that before seeing what you did. If the right idea comes along, I can imagine doing something like this again, but without the animations.:D

I'll probably watch it tomorrow ♥ I'm very lazy about watching TV shows these days, don't know what's wrong with me, the only thing I managed to watch in the last week or so have been two episodes of The Hour.

DEFINITELY do something like this again ♥

I may have made some steps to make a D/E hands picspam, which is awful and life ruining, and why would I ever? :D

BUT YOU MAKE MORE ♥ WE NEED THE PRETTY.
