Great coloring and lovely tutorial!

I'm fairly new to icon making, and was wondering if you would be willing to elaborate on exactly how to duplicate layers? In other words, I need a breakdown of each step. Haha. I would be eternally grateful if you could help me with this. I've been trying to achieve this type of coloring for weeks and can't manage to find anyone who is willing to put it in lamen's terms for me. Thank you!

No problem there's two ways to duplicate layers.

01. First make sure you have the layer you want to duplicate selected like so then go to the top like where it says File Edit View, etc and go to the Layers one and click Duplicate, like this.

02. Again make sure you have the layer you want to duplicate selected and click on the duplicate icon on top of the layers, like this.

Afterwards you should have your duplicate layer like so.
