a comedy of errors

It is time for you to laugh at me. Laugh very hard.

I have locked myself out of my condo. Fortunately for me, aureliapriscus is not home and asleep, as I had feared, but it as her parents place doing a computer thing for them. This is very good, because if she had been asleep, I'd be out here in the hallway (I followed someone into the building) all night. ( Read more... )

Isn't this the 2nd time you locked yourself out?

At this place, I believe it is the first. The last time I locked myself out--only about four months ago--was at our previous apartment. I've really got to start keeping an extra set of keys somewhere safe but not inside. *wry*

Have you thought about wearing the key as a necklace?

I tried that with my work keys for awhile, but I get irritated with it knocking into things and keep taking it off. :-(

The work keys now get clipped to my belt loops, when I have them. When I don't...I lock myself out of my office all the time. *wry*

Oh geez. At least the last time I locked myself out, I knew which window wasn't locked, and I could wriggle through it in a very undignified manner. >,0

I hope that by now you are tucked up snug and asleep in your bed. ^^

Heh. We're on the third floor, so no wriggling. Trust me, I thought about if it would be possible! *laughs*

Alas, not into the apartment yet. :-( I had to move down the hall to an electrical outlet. Fortunately still in range of the wireless.

Only about an hour and a half in the end. Not too bad, as these things go!

I was a bit surprised that most folks I mentioned it to didn't seem to think it was as funny as I did. *g* I mean, it wouldn't have been funny at all if I really had been locked out all night, but I only told anyone after I already knew the roomie would be letting me in and I wad comfortably ensconsced in the hall with my laptop and my Internet, so... :-D
