You know, I'm really getting sick of people who find out I'm from Boston and automatically ask me if it's anything like The Boondock Saints or The Departed. Both are great movies, which I love, but seriously people - give it a rest.

I do, but I'm lucky in that my father still lives in Southie and occasionally sends me care packages. If there's anything you want I can see if I can get some for you.

Ooh... I think I love you. Think you could manage Italian food? And I mean real Italian food, like what you find in those yummy family-run North End bistros where the nice nonna that built the place and still comes in every Friday afternoon speaks in broken English and an accent so thick you have to learn some Italian in order to talk to her about more than two or three things. There's just nothing like that around here -- and if there is, I haven't found it.

There's this little place my father loves to frequent called La Famiglia Giorgio, classic Italian with a great atmosphere. They make a lasagna that would make you weep. I planned on calling him tomorrow to get some lobster and chowder, so I'll ask for some food from there as well.
