"I don't want to live, I want to love first and live incidentally." - Zelda Fitzgerald

I think I've cloistered myself long enough, I need to get out of here. Much as I feel my house is safe and the company is wonderful I need to stop acting like a child hiding from bogeymen and attempt to live again ( Read more... )

I'd lend you mine, since you two are such good friends, but unfortunately he's the first to admit he can't dance.

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.

He doesn't actually need to dance, I'll accept someone willing to stand there and let me make a fool of myself dancing around them just as easily.

Thank you, it took some wise words, but I'm slowly finding my way back to sanity.

I work 'round my students, so whenever ya got time, we can work on it. Tifa's flexible wi' tha schedulin' too, so I'm pretty open. Lemme know when.

Uh. An' seein' wha' Shizuru said... I drink wi' people, but I look like an idiot when I try ta dance. I'll go wi', though, if ya want.

That's good to know. My work schedule is fairly consistent and open, so we'll have to see what time is best for all involved. Thank you again for this.

Oh please, you act like I'd be a good dancer! I mainly just want someone to help make sure I don't end up getting tanked and doing something ridiculous.

Yer welcome.

Heh, all righ', then. Sounds easy enough.

It should be easy enough, I pride myself on being low-maintenance.

If you're still in need of someone to dance with, I'd be more than happy to fill that spot.

...Kazuma, you can't resist any opportunity to spend time with a pretty woman, can you?

Kurenai, my brother can be an idiot sometimes, but he's apparently on a quest to prove chivalry's not dead, so he'd be nice, I promise. And he's finally had a tiny bit of common sense knocked into him.

She needs assistance. I thought I would offer.

What's that supposed to mean, Shizuru?

Aww, you think I'm pretty Shizuru? I'm flattered!

It's alright, all men and women can be idiots from time to time and his bent towards chivalry is refreshing. It's sweet of him to offer to take this old woman out for some fun.

I could check your closet, see if the bogeyman is really behind it.

Sorry, I didn't want to come off as being busy. I've just been in the department for longer hours, trying to crack a case. And I'm not avoiding you either. Just thought you might need the rest.

...that's actually not as funny as you think it is, but I'd appreciate it.

Private

It's alright, I understand and I'm not mad about this. I needed some space after all that, and you're a credit to the Force with all the hard work you're putting in. Doesn't change the fact that I miss you, and that I think you're one of three guys Aang will let near me. Glad to see you're alive though, I was getting worried.

....I swear I wasn't laughing.

You think Aang would let me steal you away from home anytime soon? I promise I'll bring you back all in one piece.

Yeah, I'm just a living shadow these days. I need to get out of the offices more. I don't know why I'm staying there for as long as I am, since there's no more distractions keeping me there nowadays.

You're lucky I believe you...I'm guessing you were polite enough not to look for details about what happened...?

Private

I'm sure he will, although he might challenge you to a fight to make sure you're worthy. I'm kidding, he's just a little over-protective lately.

I'm sorry I haven't been in the office to distract you, it's not like being home has done me much good. I've finished brooding though, and I'm ready to pretend this never happened again.

Maybe he's just getting tired of you. Work is always the cop-out phrase.

Tell him to stop leaving me the difficult stuff.

I'd like to think he'd get tired of you long before getting tired of me.

Maybe if you showed a little cleavage he'd take it easier on you.
