Yo, my five friends or whatever here on LJ! (Lol it's true, I haven't really counted and I like not having tons of people privy to locked friends only posts - if I want to seriously give the finger to the world, Facebook would be where it's at ( Read more... )

I may need one too. Maybe we can start a community of crack-head fanfics.

A lot of people have a "writing journal". I think it's basically a comm (which you can start with your existing LJ account). Then you tell your friends who want to read your fic (that would be me! cracky and slashy are my favs!) to follow your comm. You set the comm so only you can post to it.

I've been posting most of my stuff just to my journal, because I don't use my journal for much else.

Which fandom(s) are your fanfics for? You can also post directly to communities for those fandoms.

Righty ho, posting from smart phone while kicking back in lounge chair here in Kanagawa, scuse brevity.
Decided to just do a separate account, can't be bothered with paying and just figuring out the comm thing was too much. Jessamygriffin (lower case) is what I will post my smut to in future, though the current story I am filling isn't linked yet, not till I finish it. Currently I am crushing on BBC Sherlock so bad, but also just Sherlock in general. I really wanted to post a reply fic to your crossover Aubrey Sherlock one, from stephens view but... Arch. The regency language framework so hard can hardly manage Victorian! If you are interested in what I do beyond crack (love that stuff) I can send the thread from the Sherlock phonesex fill I am doing, was my FIRST smut piece! Can't believe I wrote it really. Hello! New to fandom since April 16th!
Nice to meet you again! My fanzine - Aubrey of course and Sherlock of all types. Limiting myself, aside from the doujinshi I have been buying...

Very cool. Let us know when you have your writing journal up and running.

Glad you enjoyed the crossover bit I wrote - it's a cross with BBC Sherlock, so Stephen would be in current London, not Victorian. I am working on a sequel from Stephen's POV, but I would be very happy to read anything you come up with.

I would LOVE links to anything you've written, smut, crack, fluff, whatever, it's all good (especially PHONESEX, yum!) (I could link you to mine too, if you like.)

NEWSFLASH: feroxargentea and I are coordinating a big bang fic for journeystory over at mandc_journey. We have about seven writers participating right now, and we'd love to have more! For more info, see posts at perfect_duet:

Not much help... I'd say go either way. A new LJ name can be used to keep the content separate, so people can follow the one they are interested in. On the other hand, that's more work for you.

I've seen both comms and journals used for one author's work -- might be easier to use a comm, though, so you don't have to change logins. But what do I know, theyve recently changed community links to a simpler format, perhaps you can have multiple usernames... In any case, you could go with a name based on this one (crimsongriffinfics, for example) or go crazy with a new one. If you do a comm, you'll be posting as yourself, but with a separate follow structure.

I say go for it! (I'm all in favor of having multiple LJs...many of the fannish folk I know do exactly that, have a writing journal or more than one.)

You can also change your username if you want, but you might have to have a paid account-- I'm not sure.
