Eeesh, the Gap, good job writing that part! Of course Watson's first reaction in the midst of that horror would be to want to help those people. <3 I especially liked the part where he reaffirms his goal of finding a way back to his normal life, an endearingly-Watson thing to do. I'm as sad as Watson to see Hammersmith go too, but that's the way of things in the Underworld

I agree, I don't really see The Marquis/Watson because I just love Holmes/Watson too much (as in: in a relationship of any real emotional value). However some obstacles, jealousy, misunderstanding, confusion etc. always make for good things in my book.

Thanks so much! I love your comments. :) I think the constant shifting of characters is definitely one of the defining things about London Below.

About the potential relationship, I don't ever mean to get in between Holmes and Watson! It's just, as I'm writing this, I keep making comparisons between Holmes and the marquis, which I think Watson would cling to, as you said. It wouldn't be permanent, and probably wouldn't even go so far as sex, but would just be a way for Watson to get a little bit more control over his life. Holmes is on his way to save the day though! finally :D
