I only just got back home and I want to go back out again. I finished reading The Golem's Eye and now I wanna hunt down the last of the Bartimaeus trilogy. That book started out a little slow, and had a totally different tone to The Amulet of Samarkand (it's way darker and Bartimaeus isn't quite as witty/funny), but it really pulls you in ( Read more... )

Hmm...I just read a description of those books, and they sound interesting. But are they very dark? because I'm a wuss
And this community looks fun as well...oh, the strangely amusing thing that is badfic >_>.

They're not dark at all! :D I just meant that The Golem's Eye is darker than The Amulet of Samarkand-- which is very light-hearted and fun, I assure you. You should definitely check out the trilogy if you're interested-- there's so much more to it than 'magicians with their magic'.

The community is hilarious. Every so often I'll see a post with a snippet of badfic and crack up for a few minutes. XD

Ooh, definitely interesting then :D
I just checked if my local library has them...and it does, thought only in Finnish. Well, not much difference to me :P

Tell me about it, made the mistake of reading it on the computer at school yesterday, until someone commented on on my loud giggling. ^_^;;; (maybe I was disturbing their work, eek :3)
after that I just tried to laugh quietly

I've heard rumors that there is a black Christmas tree in a mall nearby that is decked out in Star Wars. Yay?

Oh wow. Dude, that sounds AWESOME! So much better than the display in STNTP. In the words of my friend: it looks like Barney the Dinosaur lost all his hair.

I liked the tree in Festi. I liked the fact that it was pimped out :P As for the one in STNTP, the less said about it the better. IMO it usually looks horrendous.

The STNTP deco isn't always gross-- I think I remember one that was kinda froufy. In a pretty kinda way.

My bad, actually-- the tree's not blue. It's green, with silver (as per usual), but I thought it was blue 'cause it has/had blue lights. Actually, the lights change. I was just witness to it under a purple headlight, with red Christmas lights strung all over it. Purple on red on silver on green. Can you imagine anything more horrific? :\

I just got up. Now I feel a powerful need to crawl back into bed and die a little.

The Sha Tin one this year basically looks like what you would get if you went to a barber's shop that catered especially for Barney the Dinosaur, swept up all the hair clippings, and glued them to a coat rack. And then sprinkled glitter over the top. I thought it would start crawling, it was that furry.

LOL, have you seen the new Sims 2 expansion pack? You can buy Zen sand gardens for your Sims and make them rake them. I saw the ad online and thought of the one in Sha Tin.

Ahaha. *mental image of Buttercup raking sand*
