Aaarrrgggg! Why won't my brain work? I've got the story, I know what happens, but I just don't have the skills to get it down on paper and make is sound the way it should. I'm seriously thinking about giving writing the flick. I've left the fic, actually not written anything for a couple of days, but when I come back it's like my brain shuts

aawww, baby. I know how you feel. Got three (3!!!!) multichapters that are unfinished. I just can't find my way back in. Here's what I do: I write a oneshot or tag... helps getting the muse out of hiding (hate her sometimes, slippery bitch, heh)

Thanks for the hug babe. Really needed it. Hee, sounds like you have just as much trouble as me. Sometimes it feels like you're the only one, that's what's so great about LJ. You know there are other people going through the same things.

Oh babe. *smooshes you hard* We all go through exactly the same thing. I thought the drabble would get me back into the swing of things, but I still haven't been able to write anything more on my fic either. The muse is a very fickle creature. Don't let it get you down and don't give up!

That sounds like such a great idea. It would be so great to sit down and have a glass (or two) of wine with you. Maybe one day huh?!

Oh noes, you're still having trouble as well. Bugger. Damn the muse, we really need a new one maybe. Together we will trap her and make her sit and be good :-)

Yeah, I just can't get back into "the writing zone" again. I'm not sure if I've been out of it too long or maybe not long enough.

Have you tried plotting out what you'd like to say first? I find that sometimes if you jot down point form notes, it can help stimulate your brain. You could also try working on another scene if you don't like the idea of taking another break and setting the entire story aside. Lastly, if the story isn't really speaking to you right now then you should leave it and try working on something else. You can always go back to it if inspiration strikes.

I also get easily intimidated by the skill of other writers. However, the more you write, the better you'll become. Besides, everyone has different strengths and progresses at different speeds and levels. The writer you admire might struggle with description, while it's something that could come more easily to you.

I like your first idea. The second, about starting another scene won't work coz it's just one scene. Hee, it's just a little thing and giving me so much grief. I actually wrote a bit today though, so I'm kind of happy about that. I will need your help later with the beta'ing if you don't mind. I'll e-mail you :-)
