Dragon con
So, one of my goals this year is to go to DragonCon. I though it was a fairly realistic goal - within driving distance, admission is reasonable, lots of programming that meets my interests (unlike Gencon, which doesn't).

Smaug Progress
The corset is assembled and trimmed, waiting to be bejeweled and boned. I just have to finish that (about another 30-40 hours if work based on my current beading progress) design and create a headdress, build wings, greaves and bracers, make a bustle and "dragon tail". Too much to finish by Halloween on top of my usual workload? Probably.

Okay, so I went out of my way this year to have a party not on NYE so that people might actually come and I could have a "normal" birthday party. 6 people turned up. about 30 said they were coming, 15 of whom flaked out at the last minute (some for legitimate reasons, some for crap ones). feeling a bit smug after reading this diet myth dispelled, as it's always been my personal philosophy. It's just too bad I hate exercise and love food. :P But really, this is good news.
