Amanda doesn't actually care about this issue at all, but that won't stop her from purposefully trying to sow anger and unrest!]

No. The survival instinct is only tested in people who don't appreciate life to begin with: those who hurt others, or themselves. People who prey on and exploit weaknesses to fulfill their own desires, not caring about the people they hurt or destroy along the way. People who hurt themselves rather than appreciate the fact that they're alive and healthy.
