In preparation for the upcoming fight, he carried a small pouch on his side that contained several ninja projectiles, and despite his desire to help a friend, he felt uncertain about using this method, because he certainly didn't want to harm Mewtwo.

His eyes still glowing brightly, Mewtwo rose motionlessly from his resting place and floated upward, out of the gaping maw of the unfinished tower. He finally straightened his stance and began floating toward where he sensed his friend.
"Gaara," he spoke directly into Gaara's mind as he approached the red-headed ninja from above, "Thank you for coming."
((OoC: Everything he says is going to be telepathic, of course. I just know that I'm going to get sick of saying 'he said telepathically' and skip over it. :B))

Sensing a presence above him, the young Kazekage glanced up to see a figure approaching from... midair, floating down like a bird descending after flight - the appearance resembled the traits shown in the small icons of the username on the online community. "Mewtwo."

Mewtwo's eyes traveled over Gaara; he was already sizing him up, wondering how any human could possibly match his abilities. The last thing he desired was to harm his friend accidentally, but he believed that if he restrained himself the point of the battle would be negated.
He wondered what the procedure was for this kind of situation. When Pokemon fought each other in a battle, trainers always arranged things. He was certain that no Pokemon had ever fought with a human on friendly terms before.
"...Are you sure that you are willing to do this thing? You are placing yourself in danger for my sake," he hazarded. His new outlook had not come with experience in socializing!
