Upon pain of loss of friendship, I solemnly swear that there are NO Spoilers in this entry. I just finished the last Harry Potter book. I think it's a fantastic ending, filled with some twists that even diehard fans could not predict....and there is a definitive end to the series

I was a pretty early fan too... later than you I think though. I got it in the summer when I was ten. So it has been nine years and a lot has changed, or stayed the same dramatically.
It was worth waiting I think
There might be a time NOW when I fondly recall to random passerbys that I grew up with Harry Potter. Restraint is being tried
