Firefly is a GOOD example of the genre.

However if you aren't comfortable writing a genre, you aren't comfortable. Like me and romance. And me and crime. Grin.

Firefly is amazing, I just can't seem to have it reconciled with my mental picture of sci-fi. Perhaps that's because I've never really had much to do with it. *is pretty much sci-fi ignorant*
